I just finished my eightieth shirt in the past two years. To celebrate, I added a new, running log of my fashion creations.
I've never enjoyed shopping. Being tall, I rarely find things that fit, and only a small fraction of those are in any way interesting. My first taste of garment sewing made me realize that I could simply make my own interesting things that fit.
Shirts seemed like a good place to start. Most shirt construction is based on a two-piece collar, a yoke, and button front, so I started with a cheap pattern (McCalls 2447) that covered those aspects, and started modifying from there.
I've enjoyed making fun things for myself, my family, and my friends. My favorite shirt is usually my most recent one, but the ones below never fail to brighten the day!
